About Me

Thank you for stopping by!  I am a 53 year old Veteran and recovering alcoholic, and sometime drug user. As of December 22, I have 19 months sober.

I have been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder 1–which I am convinced doesn’t exist because I am missing the Manic component of this disorder–mild PTSD–not as a result of my military service, but as a result of horrendous childhood trauma and abuse–and I am diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, which I probably do have:  a nice Trifecta of stuff to color my world with.

I Blog about the things I’ve learned in life, and in recovery.  I am trying to build a place for recovering addicts, or those considering sobriety, to come and learn, laugh, write, share and post things about addiction, sobriety, music, recovery, my sobriety, wellness, and I write lots of poetry.

I have also created over 10 different features that I use to try to enliven my community and get folks interacting.  I hope to enlighten, educate, support, uplift, amuse, and simply be a comforting place folks can come and experience lots of different things in one place.

You can learn the most about me by reading My Recovery posts, and by reading my Sunny Side Up series.  I think I have also posted some important stuff about myself in the My Ruminations and My Miscellany sections of my blog as well.

I also have a poem that is pretty heavy about a lot of my life:  Better Sit Down.

And I wrote a brief Autobiography for the program about my life:  My Miscellany:  The Story Of My Life.

Thank you for visiting!  I hope you enjoy your stay and please share your own comments and experiences with me!
